Chapter 2
Welcome to Bang Cock!
street. You will need to present your passport when exchanging Traveler's Checks or doing a cash advance on your credit cards (Master and Visa card).

Bring enough money (TC's preferred) to spend $200 per day. Make sure you pay off all your credit card bills and notify customer service you will be using your cards in Thailand before you leave the country. Have your credit card number and customer service written down on a small note pad so you can call customer service in case you lose your card or it gets stolen. Same with your TC's.

At the airport, walk outside the terminal to the TAXI METER booth. Take a meter taxi to either the Crown hotel (Soi 6) or the Nana hotel. Do not take the highly overpriced taxi inside the airport terminal.

Once you check into your hotel, put all your money and valuables (including your passport and airplane ticket) in the hotel safe deposit box. The box at the Crown and Nana is open 24 hours a day.

The best night life will be found at the Nana Entertainment Plaza, right across the street from the Nana hotel, Soi 4. Expect to pay 500 baht for the bar fine and 1,500 to 2,500 for sex with a prostitute. The best bars in Bangkok are the G-spot and all the ground floor bars (right side as you enter) at the Nana Entertainment Plaza. For hard core sex shows, go to Patpong, upper level bars.

The best disco is Angels at the Nana Plaza and for meeting free lance prostitutes, visit Thermae Coffee House between midnight and 4 a.m. Expect to pay 1,000 baht for sex with a Thermae girl.

It's always best to travel and dress light. The weather will be both hot and humid. Tennis shoes, light slacks and T-shirts will be appropriate in most places. I've never had a problem anywhere in Thailand wearing shorts, T-shirts and tennis shoes. Dress how you feel comfortable.

Eat at the Nana Coffee shop at the Nana hotel for late night snacks with your girl. She will order some great dishes you would never think of.

Eat at the Landmark hotel (Sukumvit, between Soi 4 and 8) for lunch or dinner buffets. Expensive, but fabulous. The Ambassador cafe also has lunch buffets which are great. Dress up at bit. It's mostly for business men.

Be sure to visit the Grand Palace and the Dildo Farm at the Hilton hotel. Go to the Oriental hotel in the morning for a scenic boat ride on the river..
Take a meter taxi (avoid the tuk tuks and motorbike taxis) for all excursions in town. Take a ride on the new tramway.

Important: Always carry your hotel business cards with you wherever you go. In case you get lost, just show the card to any taxi driver and he will know how to get you back.
