How do you get to the massage parlors?
During the afternoon and early evenings you will find taxi drivers on foot hanging right on the front entrance of the parking lot to the Ambassador hotel, Sukumvit road, opposite Soi 8. Just hang out for a few minutes looking like you're lost and one of the drivers will approach you on foot with a colorful leaflet of Atami or one of the other popular parlors. Ask him how much it will cost to go there and then bargain down the price (about half of what he quotes). Then go with him. He'll take you to the best parlors in town.

My advice is you try to check out two or three parlors before taking a massage. Be sure to get a business card or flyer from each massage parlor. That way you can get a cheaper means of transportation (i.e., a meter taxi) next trip around. Should you decide to have a massage, best you pay the driver and let him go on his merry way. Or if you like, you can have him wait. Just be sure to ask him how much it will cost to wait and then drive you back to your hotel. Yes, it's safe to go with these taxi drivers who hustle tourists on the street. It's the same drivers who've been doing this for many, many years and believe me, if they messed with any of the tourists, the Tourist Police would have run them out a long time ago. Have fun!
