Years ago, I could recommend Soi Cowboy as a wonderful place to pick up girls, but this too has gone downhill. Well, I should qualify that. Just recently it seems to be picking up as some new girls make their way in. I was just in Tilac bar last month, January 19, and I met a babe! Wow! Actually, Soi Cowboy can be a fun place to chase women, especially if you're coming to Bangkok for your first time. It's very tame compared to Patpong and you won't find the obnoxious Thais yelling in your face to, "Come inside!" With this in mind, it is certainly worth a few visits. Best time to get there is around 8 p.m., just as all the girls are in uniform and ready to meet guys just like you.

Soi Cowboy is located off the Sukumvit road, right off Soi 21. To get there, just flag down a meter taxi; all the taxi drivers know where it is (located right off Soi 23 and Sukumvit road). Soi Cowboy, similar to Patpong, is located on a side street (where the traffic is blocked off at night); it is comprised of a cluster of about 25 Go-Go bars, almost all of them street level and lined up back-to-back. The set up in Soi Cowboy is the same as Patpong. Each bar is lit up with it's own neon sign and right outside the door step of each bar will be a few door boys or girls enticing you to come inside. However, the Thais here are nowhere near as aggressive as in Patpong and much more polite. Indeed, it is a much more relaxed and kick back atmosphere. However, some may consider it too relaxed; it's nowhere as sexually wild as Patpong, so if you're looking for the kinky stuff, such as live fuck shows, I seriously doubt you will find it here.
