Welcome to Bang Cock!

If you do decide to sit down in any of the Go Go bars in Patpong (Go Go is the term for a strip joint . with dancing girls on stage who are prostitutes), you

should know that you are paying top baht for your drink.  To me, 90 baht ($2.25) is way overpriced for a coke or Singha beer (the local beer), especially when I can get it for almost half the cost elsewhere. I think you know what I'm
leading up to.

Unfortunately, Patpong has really gone down hill over the years and is no longer the pussy paradise it used to be. At least I didn't find it so on my last two trips and many would agree with me. Many of the bars, even the King's Group which used to be hot, are now infested with transvestites and transsexuals (if that is your thing, you'll be in heaven here). The quality of the women has gone way down hill. Most of the girls look like worn out hags and are hardly worth the time. Although the number of women in each bar is staggering (some bars have up to 50 dancers or more), the quality makes it a joke. The last several times I was in Patpong, I went in and out of every single bar and found only one girl that I thought might be worth taking back with me to my hotel. I passed.

In spite of all this negativity, I think Patpong is worth a visit, just to see it. It is pretty wild and if you've never seen a girl drop a raw egg out of her pussy without breaking it (what talent!), then check it out (again, for the raunchy stuff, go to the upstairs bars, such as Super girls, Lipstick or Super Queen). However, once you've been there, done that, it's time to move on to better things.

By the way, I should mention that right outside the doors of the bars in Patpong, you will find one of Bangkok's most thriving outdoor night shops (open from 7 p.m. past midnight). If you're into shopping for watches, Thai silk, laser
pointers, pirated cassettes/videos, and a load of other fun gadgets, this is the  place to come. It's a real shoppers paradise, seven nights a week, come rain or shine. Remember, the prices for any  item are not fixed and negotiable.  Whatever price the salesman asks, I would bargain it in half. Even then  you've overpaid.

Singha is the local Thai beer. Sorry, I'm not a drinker, so I can't really comment on the taste. Depending on the bar, a beer will run you anywhere from $1 to $2.50.
