(i.e., dancers, waitresses, door girls), having done a body count in several bars, I'd estimate that 40 girls per bar is a pretty conservative number. So add up all the bars in Patpong (44), Nana (31), and Soi Cowboy (30), and multiply that by 40 and we're talking over 4,000 lusty babes waiting for your arrival. That's not counting the infamous Thermae Coffee House (the world's most famous meeting grounds for Thai hookers and tourists from all over the world), the countless brothels, massage parlors (Atami, for example, boosts they have over 100 girls), and the free lancers who work the streets and other hotels (such as Angels disco at the Nana where a parade of hot babes flock to nightly). Whatever the number, there is no shortage of women in this town, that is for sure.
So what happens if you take a prostitute back to your hotel to screw? Is there a chance of you getting arrested for breaking the law? Absolutely not!
Case in point. On one rare occasion, during my earlier adventures in Thailand, I happened to take a Thai woman to my hotel and not pay her for her services (big mistake!). She then called the police on me. They knocked on my door, politely entered and asked to see my passport. Next thing you know, the hotel staff translated for me what the situation was. It was quite simple. The girl wanted to get paid for tier sexual services and the Thai police were there to make sure she got paid. After I finally gave in, I handed her the 500 baht, right in front of the police. So

then what happened? The girl left with a smile on her face, the cops left as if it was another boring night on the town, and I went to bed minus 500 baht. The Thai police were very polite to me and there was not a single hint that the cops were there to bust me for involvement with a prostitute. As a matter of fact, having paid the girl right in front of their eyes, they could have busted me and the hooker right then and there. Rather than bust me for paying a girl for sex, they instructed me to pay the girl and when I did, everything was fine and dandy.
Of course, the lesson learned from this is if you have sex with a prostitute, you pay her for her services. If you do, you will never have the cops knocking on your door. The Thai police have no problem with tourists enjoying sex with
