where you can get a little straw but for $3 a night. Whatever it is you're looking for, in terms of accommodations, Thailand has it.
Now, if you can afford to pay $200+ a night for a room to sleep in, congratulations. I wish I had your budget. On the other hand, I feel sorry for you. Because when you meet this gorgeous girl in the bars and wish to bring her back to your room at the Hilton in Bangkok, you'll get a, "Sorry, sir. Female guests are not allowed." So keep in mind, if you stay in a high-class hotel, you may not be permitted to bring women to your room. This will not be the case in the hotels I recommend.
The two hotels I highly recommend you stay at while in Bangkok are the Nana hotel located on Soi 4 (the word "Soi" meaning "street"), or the Crown hotel, located in-between Soi 6 and 8. The Crown hotel is the cheaper and less luxurious of the two and will cost you around 590 baht (about-$16) per night (price subject to change). The Nana is more upper class and will cost you double the price (about 980 baht a night, depending on the size of the room). If you can afford it, I recommend you stay at the Nana, if for no other reason, because of its superb location. The Crown is also in an excellent and very safe location, but the rooms are a bit worn. Hey! You get what you pay for. Both hotels offer air-conditioned rooms, western style toilets, hot/cold water, cable TV, refrigerators, safe deposit boxes, a very friendly staff and, most importantly, allow female guests (with
out any surcharge).

Both the Crown and Nana hotel are walking distance from many shops, restaurants, and the hang out spots for the girls. The Crown and Nana do take credit cards (Visa and Master Card), but charge an extra 5%.
I think you should stay at the Nana hotel for several reasons. It has a 24 hour coffee shop which offers excellent Thai cuisine (an American style breakfast is included with the room. I don't recommend you eat the Crown hotel restaurant). The Nana also has a late night disco, Angels, which is packed out with girls, every single night. It also has larger rooms and a more luxurious lobby to hang out in (a great place to pick up on women, by the way. Just hang out). Plus a nice swimming pool. Not to mention a moments walk from
