SENDING MONEY HOME TO MAMA AND PAPA

I'm now sitting at my computer with a bar girl (giving me a wonderful massage as I type life's a bitch!). I asked her, "So, do you send money to help support your mother?" She said, "No." I said, "Wow! You are a very bad girl. Why don't you send money to your mother?" She said, "Because my mother is dead." I said, "So, send it to the cemetery!"

Many of the bar girls are working the bar to support their family. My ex-girlfriend Jeanly would send a postal money order to her family in Samar once a month. After working the bars for several months, she went back to Samar to bring her younger sister to Angeles, whom she now supports. This is very typical of the bar girls: they are working to support their family back home who lives in utter poverty.

I LOVE TO WORK IN THE BAR

Most of the girls who work the night life in Angeles love it. Many times the girls will come to work early and even on their day off. Why? Because they love the bar scene. They love the music, they love the atmosphere, they love the air conditioning, they love the customers, and they love their friends who also work there. The bar is like their second home. It's a great place to work.

Before I came to Asia, I was brainwashed into thinking these bar girls are all sex slaves and are forced to work in the bars. So, I had this notion that when I came to the Philippines I would rescue at least one girl from her prison. However, what I found out is none of the girls wanted to be rescued; they liked working the bars. In fact, I found out that many of the girls preferred to continue working the bars even when I offered them support, schooling and housing, if they would quit working. Although many would have taken up my offer, many were content to remain right were they were, in the bar.

I know of many bar girls who are currently being supported by a boyfriend from the states. The minute the boyfriend shows up in the Philippines, the girl stops going bar fine and even stops working at the bar. The second the guy leaves, the girl is back at the bar and goes bar fine. This is standard procedure and it will happen to your girl.
