welcome to our magazine.
Can you tell me about your travel to the Philippines? MAC HORN: I first went to the PI (Philippines) in March of 1991. At the time, I was living in Pattaya Beach, Thailand, and I needed to leave the country in order to do a visa run. As it turned out, this friend of mine had just returned from the PI. When he told me how incredibly friendly the native Filipina girls were, it was only a matter of days before I would be booking my flight. OD: How was your first trip to the Philippines? MH: It was both scary and exciting. OD: I had heard a lot of stories in the newspapers and on TV specials about how dangerous the area is, so I was very nervous about going there. For example, I heard thinks about how the prostitutes would put sleeping powder in your drink so they can get you back to the hotel to rob you. Or, how the taxi drivers will set tourists up for a robbery. Things like that. OD: Did you have any security problems during your first visit? MH: Not at all. In fact, I have now been living n the Philippines for almost two years and I have never had any problems. But of course, I must qualify that statement by saying I practice “safe traveling.” OD: Safe traveling” MH: When you travel to the Orient, you have to know the rules to keep out of trouble. For example, one rule in the Philippines is that you never trust any Filipino man, especially a stranger on the street. What happens too often is that a tourist will be waling along the street and a Filipino man will approach him with the line, “Hey friend! Remember me?” “I was your bus driver at the airport,” or some other silly lie. Of course, the tourist has never seen this guy before in his life. After a handshake and a friendly conversation, the Filipino will try to convince the tourist to come over to his house for a card game in which the tourist will lose everything including the shirt off of his back. Unfortunately, I know too many guys who have fallen for this trap and have lost some money. Don’t let this happen to you. OD: How do avoid this problem? MH: Easy, the rule is, when you walk the streets in the PI, you never talk to any male stranger who approaches you. If a guy comes up to you, tries to shake your hand and make friendly conversation, you ignore him completely, just as if he doesn’t exist. You do not shake his hand, you do not say hello, don’t even look at him. He will then move on to someone else who is an easier target. It is as simple as that. OD: What about prostitutes drugging tourists and robbing them. MH: It is amazing what tales the anti-prostitution groups will come up with in order to deter men from mingling with the Asian Girls. First, they tell us the prostitutes are helpless, exploited, underage sex-slaves who are being preyed upon by the male predator tourists. Next thing you know, the anti-prostitution groups are warning us that the prostitutes are very dangerous, hardened criminals who sexually seduce the tourists while drugging their drinks so they can later rob them in their hotel rooms. It is all a bunch of crap coming from the mouths of certain people who cannot handle others getting laid and having a good time. OD: So, you are not worried about a Filipina girl coming to your hotel room and stealing from you? MH: The only thing I am worried about is her stealing my heart when I fall in love with her. But not to worry, because I will get it back the next day when I meet another girl who is twice as beautiful and twice as nice. OD: Can you give us an update on where the best nightlife is in the Philippines? MH: Nightlife in the Philippines has been through a lot of changes over the years. When I first went there in March of 1991, the best places to go were Ermita in manila and the red-light districts right outside the doorsteps of the US military bases in Angeles City and Subic Bay, Olongapo. However, by the end of 1991, mayor Lim in manila had forced the closure of the red-light districts in Ermita, so that was the end of that. The bars in Angeles and Olongapo had pretty much shut down due to the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. That forced the evacuation of the US Clark Air Force Base in Angeles and US Navel Base in Subic. As a result, most of the bars in Angeles and Subic shut down. However, Angeles City miraculously recovered and has grown over the years with a good forty bars or more in operation. OD: How would you compare the bars in the Philippines with say, for example, a typical strip joint in the US. MH: There is a world of difference. First and foremost, all of the girls who work in the bars in the Philippines are there to sleep with the tourists, not just hustle them for tip money. Although prostitution in the Philippines is illegal, the laws are not enforced and it is very easy to take a bar girl back to your hotel for the night. So, sex with a bar girl is easy to come by. The Filipina girls are very relationship-oriented, not so much money-oriented. What that means is that you cannot only easily find a girl to sleep with, but do not be surprised if within a few hours of your relationship with your new friend, you find yourself falling madly in love. Many tourists end up with a girl friend within the first or second night in the Philippines. OD: Mac, how do the Filipina women feel about American men coning to their country to visit them. MH: I think it is no secret that Filipina women are extremely attracted to American men, to say the least. To them, every American male is rich, successful, highly intelligent, kind hearted, loving and caring individual who will make a wonderful husband to some Filipina women. With that type of attitude, when an American comes to vacation in the Philippines, he will find himself literally surrounded by Filipina girls. If you ever wanted to experience stardom, just come to the Philippines. I am not kidding. You will be in shock at how much attention, and sex, you can get from these girls. That is why I have been living here for almost two years. And believe me, I have no plans to go anywhere else. OD: Would you say that you enjoy the Filipina girls even more than the Thai women? MH: Well, that is a tough question. Both the Thai ladies and the Filipina girls have something different to offer. I think the Thai girls are better looking and more exotic, while Filipina are more romantic and playful. In a nutshell, if you are looking for love and romance, you are much more likely to find it in the Philippines. If you are looking for lust and raw sex, you are more likely to find it in Thailand. And, you can certainly find both in both places. OD: Mac, can you give us a quick summary of the best place for a guy to go in the Philippines to chase women? Should he go to manila or Angeles or…? MH: Stay out of Manila unless you are a seasoned traveler of the Orient. The best place for a first time traveler is Angeles City, a two-hour bus ride outside Manila. In Angeles, there are a good 40 bars, most of them on Fields Avenue, which runs parallel with the old Air Force base. My favorite bars are La Bamba, Champagne, Y Bar, Private Dancer, Too, DMZ, The Jungle, Butterfly and Illusions. Although I added, Valentines, Misty’s and Bronco’s (formerly Archie’s) to my list of bars in Angeles City, I would stay out of them because the girls tend to hustle the customers and the management does not care if you get ripped off as long as they get your money. OD: Can you give us a rundown of the bar scene in Angeles? How does it work? MH: Each bar employs about 20 to 40 dancers plus about 10 waitresses and hostesses. If you are looking for the more wild girls, your best targets are the dancers. If you see one you like, wave her over to sit with you. The waitress will then come over and ask if you would like to buy a lady’s drink, which will cost about $2.50. When you buy the girl a drink, his is your chance to talk with her to see if she is what you really want-and if you are what she wants. If things are looking good, you can ask her to spend the night with you. If she agrees, you will have to pay what is called the “bar fine” which is about $25. The girl is not allowed to eave the bar unless the bar fine is paid. Once paid, the girl will change into her street clothes and she will leave the bar to spend the night with you in your hotel. OD: So, then you can screw her? MH: Maybe, maybe not. You see, in Angeles, they have what are called “Cherry Girls.” A cherry girl is a virgin. So, if you meet one of those, she may go with you to sleep in your hotel, but most likely the girl will not let you touch her. OD: You mea that you can find virgins working in the bars? MH: Yes. You can also find had-core prostitutes who will fuck and suck your brains out. Take your pick. OD: So, how do you know if you are getting a virgin or a hooker? MH: You ask her. The girls for the most part speak English fairly well, so the best approach is first to buy a girl a lady’s drink so that you can talk with her to see where she is at. Remember, many of the girls are working the bars to find an American husband, not to work as a prostitute. So, this is certainly a great place to find an Asian wife, that’s for sure. Of course, there are girls who are hardcore and just work the bar to fuck the customers, so you can find that as well. That is what is so great about the Philippines. You get the best of both words: the hardcore hookers who will fuck and suck your dick raw and the sweet innocent virgins that you can fall madly in love with. It is an amazing place. If you are a single guy and you have not yet gone to the Philippines, you have missed out on the adventure of a lifetime. OD: Sounds like it is time to take a trip to the Orient.
