NEW YEARS EVE WITH LINDA
When I got back home I was going nuts from not being with Linda. Linda was going through the same thing I was and would call me or fax me in the middle of the night, telling me to get my ass back there and other parts of my body as well. I had some pictures of her near my bedside that I would look at every night before I'd go to sleep and dream about her being there with me. I had the lovesick blues big time and had to do something about it real quick. I called up a courier company called "Halbart Express" out of Los Angeles, and booked a flight for the Philippines to arrive on New Years Eve. (Whatever you do, don't use this company. I had a terrible experience with Halbart Express, which I'll get into later.) I loaded up my carry-on suitcase with gifts I had for Linda and stuffed them in and around all of my clothes. You see when you take a courier flight you're only allowed carry-on luggage.
The Courier Company uses your check-in luggage allowance to ship their time sensitive cargo, which you accompany for them. In return, you get to fly for about half price or sometimes even less, depending on when their cargo has to get to where it needs to go. (For more information see Courier Flights in the table of contents)
Linda and I brought in the New Year with a bang! I brought her all kinds of goodies like a bottle of Champagne, chocolates, candies, all kinds of American snacks, (which Filipino's love), perfume, jewelry, soaps and lotions. We stayed in Angeles for a couple of days celebrating our long awaited reunion (one-month). We both knew how we felt about each other and decided to do something serious about it. Linda and I had this long conversation about her wanting a chance to change her life.
