Wells refused and said Mac must book him a tour. He told Wells, "Don't worry, you've got a copy of my book, you'll do fine without a guide." But Wells was insistent. Finally when Wells realized that Mac's tour wasn't gonna happen, Wells asked if there was anyone else running tours. Mac said he knew of only one other guy, Gunter of G&F Tours. With Well's permission, Mac called Gunter and gave Gunter Well's phone number. Gunter told Mac not to refund the money, but keep it as commission and he'd reimburse Wells. That was the last Mac heard of Wells until he was on 60 Minutes.

Sixty Minutes is one of the longest running, news reporting shows, in the history of television; that we know. It has been given many awards for their reporting accomplishments. But you would think and reasonably assume that with all the directors, producers, and narrating hosts that were involved in this show, understood the arrangements that they themselves made. And that is, another person who owned his own separate company, which was run under an entirely different name, was now servicing Sixty Minutes.
If they would've bothered to do any investigating, (which is the reason why we have trusted and watched the show 60 Minutes for over 25 years) they would've found out that G&F Tours was a separate entity from PVS Publications. OOPS, I guess they forget to report that on their show. It's as obvious as Karl Malden's nose on his face that they all had to know that Mac was no longer involved in the tour from that point on. But Sixty Minutes has built their own reputation of not including ALL the facts about their stories they air.
