THE "60 MINUTES" Interview with ED BRADLEY, THE REAL STORY!
In July of 96, Mac got a call from John Hamlin, one of the producers of 60 MINUTES in New York. He invited Mac to come to New York to talk about his book with Ed Bradley on national T.V. (It also aired in several different countries). Mac knew as well as I that they were going to Sashimi him to death because of the very controversial information that was written in his book. Mr. Hamlin told Mac that they were going to ask him some hard questions regarding the information contained in his book, especially the parts about "underage girls."

He told him the book will be held up and shown to millions of people all around the world. But he also promised him that there were no surprises and he said, "We don't do things like that show, "Hard Copy, we're 60 Minutes, we're not like." We still didn't trust him but at the same time thought about the tremendous publicity it would receive and wouldn't cost us a dime. Little did we know that Mac was being set up big time. We found out not only while the show was being taped that Mac was gonna get fried, but also after it was edited, aired and shown to 25 million people all over the world as well. Mac's segment was the highest rated show in the last four previous years of 60 Minutes. (That's what John Hamlin told us)
Mac wanted me to go with him to New York and keep an eye on things since my real job was a private eye. Mr. Hamlin agreed with no hesitation and sent BOTH of us two round trip tickets to New York. Little did we know at the time that Hamlin would have offered us anything as long Mac showed up and did the show. Little did we know how much preparation went into making the 60 Minute segment "R & R in Southeast Asia." But we were about to find out the hard way.

After a 5-hour flight from LAX to N.Y., Mac and I checked into our luxurious hotel. We had a limousine pick us up when we arrived at JFK International airport. We were chauffeured to one of the most expensive hotels in Manhattan. The Hotel, food and Limousine service were all compliments of 60 Minutes.
