| THE PEACE BETWEEN
MEN AND WOMEN IN THE PHILIPPINES |
|
|
|
Wherever you go there will be girls checking you out and some will go right up to you and ask you what your name is, your age, and "Are You A Single?" (That's the way they talk, it's so cute.) They're especially hoping that the reason why you're visiting the Philippines is because maybe you're single and looking for a wife. That has ALWAYS been MY feeling and what
I'VE experienced when I have been there. If anyone of you have ever had the same experiences, please call me and let me know.
Why DO girls from the Philippines want to marry American men anyway?

There are so many girls in the Philippines that are dying to get married to a foreigner just from one meeting or receiving a few pen pal letters? Dave York, who is the owner of a Philippine pen pal company called, "Friends Unlimited," explains in his brochure of why HE thinks Filipino women want to marry American men. He writes: "The Filipino women feel more secure and stable being married to an American man who has a steady job and cares about his family."
He also goes on to say that they are not only willing to marry someone older but they actually prefer to do so. They feel that an older man is more responsible, mature and will treat them with respect, love and care. The normal age differences are between 10 to 20 years and in many cases will be as much as 30 years difference. Age is not as important as the fact that you are both comfortable with each other.
There are two classes in the Philippines, rich and poor with nothing in between. I have been told this by many of the Filipino people that live in the Philippines and the United States. In American society many of us don't know what it is to be really poor. To wonder where your next meal is coming from or where you're gonna sleep the next day is an every day concern of SOME Filipino people.
