#2:
Choosing My First Wife |

I tried to explain to her that it's bad to spank your monkey with all these people around.
The next morning we woke up and went back to her sister's house to get married. The marriage took place in a nearby
courthouse performed by the presiding judge. Now if that wasn't
romantic enough, in the next room, right next door to the judge's office, there were about
25 young "hospitality girls" being medically examined for sexual diseases. The girls
can't get their licenses renewed unless they get a clean bill of
health. Talk about your Kodak moments, this day sure had many of them.

After the ceremony in the judge's chambers, we went back to the sister's house to have the reception. Before the wedding I had suggested to Maria that we have the reception in a restaurant or hall. She said it would be too expensive for me. Having the party at her house was something she wanted to do for her little sister. I gave her five hundred dollars for the food expenses and she and her friends cooked all day in these huge woks outside her house. There were about 10 of her friends and relatives cooking all morning, preparing for the party later on in the afternoon.
Maria and her friends had prepared all kinds of Filipino dishes including seafood, beef, pork, chicken, tons of rice dishes, and of course a full roasted pig. The head of the pig was still attached to its body and all its skin was still on. A full roasted pig costs around 45-50 dollars. The outside of the skin is roasted until it becomes brittle. Underneath the crackley skin will be a layer of white thick fat, which both skin and fat are eaten together with the pig's meat. My arteries started to clog up just looking at this stuff.
