Very little is known here in Australia about West Africa. There are squillions of Asian migrants here and of course we white ozzies mostly came from northern Europe, but you can walk the streets of Sydney (pop. 3.5 million, no mean city) for weeks and not see a really black face, other than an occasional view of one of our own distinctive aborigines, but Africans about nil. So I wrote a few letters to advertisers from Ghana in a lonely hearts mag [yeah, snail mail] and was stunned by their style of ad and the responses. Filipinos (of course) make the greatest contribution to them with ads typically couched in words such as ""I am a devout catholic [yeah sure, mine prayed for an hour each day!], honest (?), home-loving, family-oriented"" etc. etc, some even mentioning their alleged ""virginity"" at age 36!
By contrast the Ghanaian babes are uninhibited, e.g., some openly seeking ""broad-minded, sexy men; I am interested in erotic pictures, masturbation and making love"". Strangely 70% of such ads. emanated from just one town with a double name: Agona/Swedru. Well, after a $2500 [round-trip] 38 hour flight by Egyptair and changing planes in Cairo, I arrived in Accra the capital. Used to be the British Colony of the Gold Coast until 1957 and English as in the Philippines, is the lingua franca.
It's a typical hot, bit scruffy tropical city, on the Atlantic Coast and with a bearable climate. There ain't any iiiii hotels, the best being the four-star $120 a night Novotel. I found and recommend the 'Korkdam' at $12 -15 a night: clean, very friendly, restaurant, bar, air.cond, refrig. and private shower & toilet. This isn't meant to be a travel piece but so little is known that a few words should appear. Anyway, get the 'Lonely Planet' guide to West Africa, it's very accurate. All I'll add is that Ghana is NOT South Africa [where I was mugged in Jo'burg and robbed of $4000 + everything else! BE WARNED - KEEP AWAY from same, it's a sad, brooding, unhappy land at the moment] By contrast Ghana is a stable, law-abiding, calm, orderly, peaceful and exceptionally friendly place, very religious in a late 19th Century London Missionary Society sense. Even other Africans acknowledge that. In three months there, even during presidential elections, I went everywhere, day and night, with never an unpleasant incident!
I found my way the 80 [rough African bus] km to Swedru and the pleasant Hotel Ntiamoah, modern, pool, around $25 a night. Yes I met Rita there who promised everything in her letters but wouldn't leave her big brother's side when the chips were down. No matter, the word soon got around town that an eligible 'obroni' [white man] had arrived;' visitors soon came and my room phone ran hot. Jeez I had to schedule them: Caroline, Gifty, Spendy, Doris, Agnes etc.[yes, such classic names are common]. Each was gorgeous, like the best coffee: hot, strong, black and full of flavour! Aged 20 - 30, voluptuous, beautiful big African butt, fantastic breasts and hot and wild, do anything, suck you dry, cum in their mouth, some offered anal sex if you want [I don't], screw all night, love being on top, do all the work, and again, who ever heard of condoms. I must be a tough old bastard to have survived that week. No payment asked, but a few thousand Cedis [C1800 = US$1.00] would be welcomed and you should take some gifts, Raybans, a Walkman or similar will make you like a king. Don't short change them, they are SO poor but so pleasant-natured, not a devious Asian-style bone in any body there. WYSIWYG. It's the ambition of every one to snare a white man and one succeeded. In short, I married one with a little difference, she's a Liberian, refugee from a nasty civil war, lots of them in Ghana. Cost $2000 visa fees plus fares, much paperwork, HIV-free certificate required, then a 12 months wait and a personal visit by me to the Oz embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, (expensive, violent, unattractive women - forget it) 6000km away for her visa [no Aust Embassies in W. Africa]. You've never been to a wedding if you haven't attended a West African one, such happy musical people. Now she's been here two years - wonderful, always happy and laughing, no PMT, loving, hard-working, bright, reliable, and so naturally good-natured, genuinely religiously devout thus faithful yet humorous. Wifewise forget Asians - black is beautiful.
And yes for those who wanna pay, visit any disco or 'joint' near Kwame Nkrumah Square in Accra - lots of happy chicks @ $15-20 all night with the above attractions.
Finally, I spent a few days in Abidjan, capital of the francophone Ivory Coast or Cote d'Ivoire. Much bigger and more sophisticated western style city, but wild, violent, corrupt out of downtown Plateau. Costs much higher there, had only one chick, a woman of 22 from the neighbouring Republic of Burkina Faso [ex Upper Volta]. Very ordinary and at $18 for a half hour, no bargain. Be adventurous and try Ghana. I'm told the little nearby Republic of Gambia is similar and the Wolof women are said to be the most attractive in West Africa. |

Generally, Ghana is very safe, especially by West African standards. The beach at night is not the best place to hang out; the hotels provide security for guest going to the beach at night to avoid problems. If you stick to the clubs and you will be fine, as there are plenty of places to check out.

Just reading the post from anon. I cannot comment on the beach at night as it is still dangerous to go there. However, the beach - La Pleasure - at Labadi is great during the week and especially at the week ends. Girls are all over the place but they are the real hooker types compared to girls found in the bars and nightclubs in town who are slightly more amateur. I picked up one girl and she spent just over 24 hours with me for $20 and of course I had to take her out to dinner. You have to pay $1 to 2 to get onto the beach and there the beer is $1.50 a bottle or a pint of freshly squeezed pineapple is $2. Fresh lobster goes for $7. |

Geaordie-travel - lucky you going to Ghana. Since you have not been there before a few words of advice. I would fly BA as the other airlines are at best unreliable. You will land after dark and I would recommend the Penta hotel in the middle of the action. I would not stay at the Golden Tulip or the hotels near the beach - much more expensive and they do not like guests bringing in girls although they probably will not stop you.
Girls are of two sorts - Ghanian and Nigerian. The latter are best steered away from as they can be pretty tough although great in bed. They also tend to be the hard core hookers.
Do not worry about being noticed by the girls in Ghana. You will stand out and they will come to you. You may find that you are picked up on the bus as you go from Accra to Swedru. In the bars at night the girls will be all over you. My January posts in the Accra section give you ideas about the night clubs.
Finally I would not arrive in Accra early in the week as some of the night life is closed and the Ghanians actually think a little about work.
If you want a very nice girl - great ass and like most Ghanians just loves sex - I could get her to meet you at the airport and make sure the first night is organised.

Any ideas as to meet a Ghanian girl b4 I get there?
Also am a student on a tight budget so how much would I need for a 2week stay.
Condoms can they be brought when I get there or should I buy em b4 I go
Passport, can I leave it in a Hotel safe (do they charge) whats the best way to keep it safe?

Fully understand your budget. I would still stay at the Penta the first night at about 35 pounds. I would then look around the area and there are lots of hotels that would be cheaper. I do notmknwo hotels that include breakfast but you may be lucky and find one. I just went down the road to the food court.There is a good supermarket in the opposite direction ot the food court. The girls like to have a drink of juice and eat some chocolate. It is worthwhile buying a big box of Toblerone at Heathrow and giving bars away to the girls that visit your room.Ghananian Airways is cheaper than BA but less reliable.
If you take a different girl every night then 10 pounds a night should do it for the girl. This will be less if you keep one for a longer time and if you go to Swedru. A similar amount or maybe 15 pounds should do for food and beer unless you go wild. You can do it cheaper as well.
Buy the condoms before you go. They are available but you probably have a favourite brand.
Hotel safes at the front desk have always been OK for me. They will put your passport etc in an envelope and seal it. You need to take money with you as bank machines are not that easily accessible. I take cash as there is no problem with changing cash.Do not take too much cash with you when you go out - same in every country.
Enjoy the sex - it is vigorous and there is a lot of it. Some girls are three holers and they all love to be eaten. Remember that the Nigerian girls can be a little too aggressive. However, make sure that they understand what you want and get them to repeat to you what they have agreed. If you make a mistake so what - try another !!
Do not worry. It is an exciting adventure that is very worthwhile. I went without knowing as much as you and had no problems.
Worst time is in January when there is a wind that blows from the Sahara and there is a cloud of dust the whole time. July to Spetember should be great. |

OK Update -
Been waiting for that girl to get back to me and she looks cutie, but while I wait for her to get back t me I made some contacts...
All of em them tried to scam me wanted money or phones (£300:00) so I am not really holding out hope of meeting on the internet will just either wait for the woman u said to get bake to me and meet her or wait until I get there.

Hi guys, tyvm for the tips and Maria will be picking me up from the airport - she is a fast responder and a very nice lady with unusually perfect English. Claims to have an electronic engineering certificate and is busy doing a marketing degree.
Following this description I decided to go onto AfricaConnections and find alternative opportunities. Well I was swamped by interest, over 60 women wanting to meet me in thr first day and a swarm of chat requests to the point I could hardly type - a far cry from the ennui and princesses on Western dating sites. Within 2 days I have lined up four drop-dead gorgeous types who would never ever go out with me in the west but are keen both to ball me silly and make me happy forever. They are however very keen not to be diddled by "doubledaters" and are not for those seeking casual encounters.
Many of the girls warned me that online scammers, mostly men working out of the internet cafes, have become endemic. I was almost caught myself despite being an african old-hand.
Trip planned in a few weeks.
By the way, I disagree entirely about Kenya having lived there for years, unless it has changed a lot. If chat is anything to go by it still has some of the funniest and best looking women in the world, you can get a laugh a line from the best ones and come away from an online session feeling like a king. West Africans are too boring, serious and traditional. |

Hey guys I have to confess that the stuff I said above about Maria at sixwings is a load of baloney. i also know that the truth of other encounters with her posted on this page by others were stretched. Well guys, if you dont like the truth about yourselves being splurged over these pages think how Maria feels about us posting a pack of lies about her! Hmm I see this site has resurfaced from well-deserved obscurity otherwise I would have straightened this out a long time ago.
Well gents I have made my trip to Ghana and it was pretty much the way he originally laid it out. Lovely place, make love not war sort of joint, but a lot of poverty and the scamming it encourages. I eliminated a couple of scammers from my list who were in fact the drop-dead types referred to above - if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is. I could still in fact have met a different woman every night if I was that sneaky, however after some discussion it was decided that I should meet two and choose the best.
I arranged for Darla (28) to get me from the airport. She missed me there about 8pm and I was badly ripped off by a couple of porters and taxi drivers. I was buggered after seven hours in the air and told the hotel to send her away, but Darla had already turned up in the foyer at night with no dough. She nipped into bed; I was going to ignore her but the lady has a gorgeous figure, loves sex and what can you do? While we are being honest, I have to say I was nervous I wouldn’t be able to get it up properly after a two years break and that was in fact the case – but we did everything else very nicely.
She took off early next day and I ran into Maame on the internet, so to her shock I told her I was in town and to come over. She got cold feet and didn’t front.
Next day I headed for Kumasi to see my long term chatmate Sheila (27). She is very cute with huge eyes and breasts, waiting at the airport chewing gum in a miniskirt. I originally found her freelance chat scamming, loved her style, told her to come on the webcam and show her true self or piss off, much to my surprise really liked what I saw, and we got onto a proper footing.
Sheila is the queen of romance and as I was in the mood for this – something you can’t easily buy in the West – we spent five happy days together touring Kumasi, meeting her family who were also fun but all lived in one miserable slum room, and I flew her back down to Accra for a resort holiday. Five days of hot everything-goes romance - not cheap – I ended up giving her and her family about $800 of gifts, plus the fare and resort – but cheaper than taking her to Europe which was my original plan.
Both women were perfectly reasonable girlfriends and if I lived there I would still be with one or the other. Or I would have visited the other six on my list or accepted the pickup offers. For example another chatmate, the stately Pee, offered to put me up in her own bed the whole time – but she looked like a possible transgender so I declined.
The place truly is a bachelor’s paradise Every time I was left alone I was hit on in a cheerful African sort of way. Despite being fat and 58, in the four hours after Sheila left I was hit on three times, including one of the woman taking my passport on the way out at the airport.
It’s money linked but that’s not the whole story – all the TV soaps there feature older people in powerful positions, setting the agenda or engaged in sexual escapades. Something you just don’t see in the West. Also the fathers of the women I dealt with were much older than their mothers, and it is regarded as normal.

Glad to see that Ghana is on the screen again. First of all I want to say that I did not write the post August 10th above attributed to me. Someone worte it under my name and somehow was able to post it. However, I know that some members of the board have not been treating Maria with any respect so perhaps she sent the letter herself.
With respect to the post Geaordie your best bet is to join a group such as Adult Friend Finders (AFF)and make your own contacts if you want someone to meet you at the airport or to be immediately available after you land. However, if you do not arrive on a Sunday or Monday the streets and clubs are lined with willing and very able women all wanting to join you in bed. In other words it is not necessary to write before going. Read the other posts on Ghana and it is clear which clubs to go to and where on the street the girls are. The front desk of the hotels will tell you which beaches to go to. Girls are waiting there for an interested punter.
If you want to go to Kumasi you may want to write to someone first. The pictures on AFF are quite explicit so if you pick the right one to answer then there is no problem. Just remember that there are scammers out there.
I have tried writing, going to the beach and also to the clubs and streets. No problem anywhere. Good Hunting. |

dhtrailhead perhaps I am a simple fellow but this is all getting too tricky for me.
On May 4 07 you tell everyone to contact Maria and use her for a night - intimating she is a prostitute. On Feb 19 '08 you are pleased that blocker did this, but think she needs respect.
On Aug 10 you make a post saying she is a decent woman - giving too much personal detail about her encounters with men. Then you say she did this herself as she has your login - even though it is clearly a post by a native English speaker.
Wtf is going on?

Does anyone know an hotel in Accra where one can take two or three women for the night without problems getting in and out ? I read that sometimes the staff of the hotel (receptionists and cleaners) are willing to have sex with the hotel's guests and, as I anticipate that things may not turn out as I hope, could someone tell me the name of this hotel as well ? Kradek, let me explain a couple of things about the board. First, the board was built by guys going out of their way to provide new information in some rather out-of-the-way places. A lot of reports have come from trips where the contributor had no idea whether he would be successful in a given location where he was going. Second, there hasn't been much activity on the board lately, and you have the opportunity to add to the knowledge here. Go to Accra, see what is there, take pictures if you can, write down names and places, and bring some reports back to the Dexterhorn board. That is how this board works. Accra is a bit off the beaten path for most of the current board members, so your information will be welcome. Thanks. And be careful. |
